The 13th round of the South American Qualifiers ends this Friday with a game. Uruguay and Argentina face off at 20:00 (GMT), in Montevideo.
Uruguay comes under pressure after the rout suffered by Brazil. To make matters worse, the hosts will be without midfielder Arrascaeta and forward Cavani, injured.
Coach Óscar Tabárez said that Celeste will use the lessons of the last defeat against the Hermanos.
“We went through a negative experience, but it’s part of the story and it’s what you have to look at not to make mistakes,” he said.
On the other hand, Argentina wants to take another step towards qualifying for the World Cup. For that, the coach Lionel Scaloni confirmed the presence of the forward Messi.
“Leo is fine, he trained. Is available. If the conditions are right, you know what I think of your game. In principle everything is fine”, he declared.
Argentina has 25 points while Uruguay, with 16, is still struggling to be in the classification zone.
