FINA moved the 2025 FINA World Championships from Kazan to Singapore
The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has announced the postponement of the 2025 FINA World Championships from Russia. This was reported on the website of the organization.
The tournament, which was supposed to be held in Kazan, will be held in Singapore. Competition dates will be announced at a later date. The tournament will combine six sports: swimming, water polo, diving, synchronized swimming, open water swimming and high diving.
Earlier, Kazan lost another tournament. The Union of European Football Associations has moved the 2023 Super Cup match to Athens.
At the end of February 2022, many sports organizations banned Russians from participating in tournaments on the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee. In some disciplines, such as tennis, chess, motorsport and MMA, athletes continue to compete in neutral status.
