With Neymar, PSG loses to Olympique de Marseille and is out of the French Cup

This Wednesday, the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) lost to Olympique de Marseille by 2 to 1, in Velodrome, and bid farewell to the French Cup. Alexis Sánchez and Malinovskyi scored for the hosts, while Sergio Ramos scored.

With the result, Olympique de Marseille advances to the quarterfinals of the competition and awaits a draw to meet its next opponent.

Both teams return to the field on Saturday, for the 23rd round of the French Championship. At 1pm (Brasília time), PSG faces Monaco, at the Louis II Stadium. Later, at 5pm, Olympique de Marseille takes on Clermont at the Gabriel-Montpied Stadium.

The game

In the 28th minute of the first half, Sérgio Ramos brought Under down in the penalty area and the referee signaled a penalty. In the penalty kick, Alexis Sánchez opened the scoring for Olympique.

At 39 minutes, PSG responded with Neymar, who kicked low, from outside the area. The ball hit the crossbar and went out. Already in the additions, the Brazilian, who was wearing the number 11, since he gave up the 10 to Messi, took a corner kick for Sergio Ramos to head and leaves everything the same at the Velodrome.

In the second half, at 11 minutes, Malinovskyi took advantage of Sánchez’s shot and sent a bomb into the angle, with no chance for Donnarumma, putting the Marseille team ahead of the scoreboard again.

In addition, Pau López made a beautiful save in a shot by Nuno Mendes. The ball hit the crossbar and was left to Sergio Ramos, who pushed it towards the goal. The Spaniard, however, was offside and, therefore, his attempt did not count.
