Before the match against Salernitana last Wednesday, the financial director of Juventus, Francesco Calvo, complained about the punishment suffered by the club. The Turin team lost 15 points in the Italian Championship for irregularities in the hiring of players.
“After each judicial decision, the club has clearly expressed itself, and even after the publication of the reasons, we issued a press release in which we declared that we consider the sentence unjustified and illogical. We will continue to defend ourselves in all appropriate forums with the greater respect for the institutions, but we will continue to defend ourselves”, said the CFO, in an interview with DAZN.

Calvo also commented on the situation of midfielder Paul Pogba. The Frenchman, who was signed at the start of the season, has not yet entered the field for the club due to injuries. The director denied speculation that the 29-year-old could already be on his way out.
“We also heard the rumors, but I categorically deny them. Paul was a very important signing for us and is a long-term purchase,” she said.
Even with Pogba’s presence, Juventus are likely to get rid of big names in the squad at the end of the season. After the punishment, the team occupies the 11th position in the Italian and will not be able to keep all the players for the next season. The club is still seeking to reverse the penalty in court.
