There are new details about the condition of the operated Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov. This is reported by the Telegram channel 112.
As it became known, doctors fear for the condition of the athlete’s right leg. Doctors are doing everything possible to save the leg, despite the death of the tissue. It is noted that necrosis also develops on the hands, and Kostomarov, who is conscious, cannot bend his fingers.
On February 7, 112 reported that Kostomarov had undergone an operation to amputate his left foot. It was clarified that initially the doctors planned to amputate the 46-year-old athlete one leg to the knee, but they managed to save part of the limb.
A day earlier, it became known that gangrene began to progress in Kostomarov. It was noted that the athlete was affected by most of the leg, necrosis of the foot and sepsis developed.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B.
