Vyalbe praised football as a sports industry

Elena Vyalbe urged to perceive football not as a sport, but as a place to make money

President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe praised football as a sports industry. Her words are reported by TASS.

“Do not take football as a sport, it is not a sport, but a place where money is made,” she said. The head of the FLGR noted that all people in football are engaged in making money. “No one wants to buy a ski club for big money, but there are queues for a good football club,” she added.

Earlier, Vyalbe suggested that dissatisfied prize-winning Russian skiers switch to football. “You can earn good money there,” the specialist said.

At the end of February 2022, many sports organizations, including skiing and football, banned Russians from participating in tournaments on the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). In some disciplines, athletes continue to perform in a neutral status.
