Former coach of Spartak Domenico Tedesco will lead the Belgian national team
The former coach of the Moscow “Spartak” German Domenico Tedesco led the Belgian national team. This was reported on the website of the Royal Belgian Football Association (KBVB).
The contract of the 37-year-old specialist is calculated until the end of 2024. It is noted that his main task is to prepare the team for the selection for the European Championship in 2024, which will be held in Germany.
Tedesco replaced Roberto Martinez, who has led the Belgians since 2016. The Spaniard left the position after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where the Belgians failed to qualify from the group.
Tedesco’s last club was the German RB Leipzig. He worked at Spartak since October 2019 and left the team at the end of the 2020/2021 season, in which the team finished second in the Russian Premier League and qualified for the Champions League. The German explained the decision to leave by family circumstances.
