“Last Chance” for Napoli. Zielinski valued. The Italians are calling for a transfer

Piotr Zieliski, who will turn 29 in May, has a valid contract with the club until June 2024. This means that in the summer transfer window, Napoli will probably have the last chance to earn decent money from the Pole. And since Zieliński is supposedly demanding a raise, according to tuttomercatoweb.com, the chances are growing that Napoli will say goodbye to the midfielder in six months.

“Will Zieliński be the next Fabian Ruiz? Despite an excellent season in which he has already scored six goals and made eight assists, the Pole is unlikely to extend his contract with Napoli. His demands are too high and perhaps this is the last year to cash in on the Pole, since he will be he was 29 years old. He has a high but still not prohibitive price tag, around €30m. Renewing his contract could mean he would earn over €4m a year, and that could be a bit too much for Napoli.”

And here it is worth making a parenthesis: Fabian Ruiz, like Zieliński, was an important Napoli midfielder, but six months ago he left for Paris Saint Germain for 23 million euros.

Zielinski’s beautiful adventure

Zieliński did not immediately take off on Italian soil, but rather calmly adapted to subsequent challenges. He collected his first cuts in Udinese, famous for his great scouting, but in Serie A he made a reputation in Empoli. In the summer of 2016, Napoli bought him for 16 million euros, and today he is worth twice as much.

During the tenure of Maurizio Sarri, Zieliński was an important player, but he started key matches on the bench. He was the 12th player in the hierarchy, i.e. the first reserve. Only Carlo Ancelotti made the Pole the central figure of the team. Gennaro Gatusso has not changed that. It seems, however, that he caught his best form recently, i.e. during the term of office of Luciano Spalletti.

And everything indicates that Spalletti’s team is the strongest Napoli for years, as shown by the Serie A table.
