With a goal by a Corinthians striker, Brazil wins the U-20 South American Championship and guarantees a spot in the World Cup

After eight years without playing in the Under-20 World Championship, the Brazil secured his return to the tournament this Monday, with a victory over Paraguay in the hexagonal final of the South American Championship of the category. At El Campín Stadium, in Bogotá, Colombia, the national team relied on goals from Giovane and Ronald to win 2-0.

The Brazilian team regained the leadership of the final hexagonal of the championship, with nine points. As only three other teams can reach this score, Brazil will finish with at least fourth place and, with that, has a place for the under-20 World Cup, which will be played later this year, guaranteed.

Brazil’s next match will be against Colombiaon Thursday, at 10 pm (Brasília time), at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, in Bogotá.

Paraguay occupies fourth place, with one point. His next appointment will also be on Thursday, at 7:30 pm, against Uruguay.

Superior from the start, Brazil needed 9 minutes to open the scoring. Lateral Patryck crossed into the area and, on the second post, Giovane finished with a header. The Paraguayan goalkeeper touched the ball, but was unable to prevent the goal from the player of the Corinthians.

Brazil scored again at the end of the second half. In the 35th minute, a corner kick was taken into the area and Ronaldo rose higher than all the defenders to head the ball towards the goal.
