Inconsistencies have been detected in the National Electoral Council (CNE) system in six provinces, including Santa Elena. This was confirmed this morning by Michael García, president of the Santa Elena Provincial Electoral Board.
The official explained that the failures are registered in the dignities of prefect and mayors of La Libertad, Salinas and Santa Elena. Therefore, the processing of the minutes was suspended and they will proceed to the vote-by-vote count, which would begin on the afternoon of this Monday, February 6 and will last for at least four days.

“The number that they are reflecting at this moment in the mayoralties and prefecture is of inconsistencies. Only those that are valid are those of councilors, members, the Council for Citizen Participation and Referendum”, García added.
In the CNE system, Verónica Palma (list 18) is given as the virtual winner of the Santa Elena Prefecture. However, José Daniel Villao (5-61) was proclaimed re-elected based on the copies of the minutes that they received in the electoral precincts on the night of Sunday the 5th.
The other dignitaries who are also celebrating the victory are María del Carmen Aquino as mayor of Santa Elena, Dennis Córdova, mayor of Salinas and Francisco Tamariz, mayor of La Libertad. (YO)
