This Thursday, Aston Villa announced the hiring of Steven Gerrard, Liverpool’s great idol as a player, as the team’s new coach. The Englishman was in charge of Rangers, from Scotland, and will have his first experience in the Premier League.

“Aston Villa are a club with a rich history and tradition in English football. I am very proud to become the team’s new coach,” said Gerrard, who also thanked Rangers, where they won the Scottish title unbeaten last season .
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone associated with Rangers for giving me the opportunity to lead an iconic football club. Helping them achieve a historic 55th national title will always be in my heart. and fans in the future,” he said.
Gerrard has been with Rangers since 2018. He has led the Scottish club in 192 matches, with 124 wins, 41 draws and 27 losses. The only title won was the national league last season, unbeaten. Also trienated Liverpool base teams.
