The match between Marseille and Nice
The match was very open, with chances for goals for both sides. In the first half, Nice were more effective and converted the opportunities. Olympique de Marseille controlled actions with the ball, but the visitors were very dangerous on the counterattacks.
In the 38th minute, Laborde had space to shoot from outside the area and the Marseille goalkeeper saved it. On the rebound, striker Diop anticipated the defender and headed in to open the scoring.
Afterwards, Laborde again advanced on the right side and played for Khéphren Thuram, son of former France player Lillian. The midfielder kicked hard from the edge of the area and Pau Lopez saved it, but Laborde took advantage of the goalkeeper’s shot and extended it.
On the way back from the break, the coach of Olympique de Marseille made substitutions in the attack and brought on Alexis Sánchez and Ruslan Malinovski. At 15 minutes of the second half, Clauss invaded the area and crossed. The two players who came off the bench touched the ball, but it was Malinovsky who managed to complete the shot and reduce the score.
The home team pressed the visitors in search of a draw and launched an attack. In a counter-attack, Billal Brahimi fired at speed and scored a great goal from outside the area with his left leg.
