Porto beats Vizela with Pepê’s goal and completes ninth unbeaten game in the Portuguese

This Sunday, the Porto beat Vizela 2-0, in a match valid for the 19th round of the Portuguese Championship, at Estadio do Dragao. The goals of the game were scored by the Brazilian Pepê and by Mehdi Taremi.

The result did not change the position of the teams in the table. Porto, which completed its ninth game without defeat in the Portuguese, remains in second place with 45 points, eight behind leader Benfica, while Vizela remains in 10th place, with 24 points.

Porto returns to the field on Wednesday, at 5:45 pm (Brasília time), against Académico de Viseu, in a match valid for the quarterfinals of the Portuguese Cup, at Estádio Municipal do Fontelo. Vizela will face Chaves on Friday, at 5:15 pm, for the Portuguese Championship, at the FC Vizela Stadium.

Porto started the game better, creating the clearest chances to score. In the 4th minute, from a corner kick, the home team almost opened the scoring with Mateus Uribe, who headed the ball over the goal.

In the 41st minute, in a Brazilian move, Evanilson crossed for Pepê, free, to open the scoring for Porto.

In the second half, Porto just didn’t extend the scoring after five minutes because Buntic made a beautiful save from Evanilson’s shot. At 41 minutes, João Mário crossed to the area and found Mehdi Taremi, who took the first shot to score the second for the home team and give final numbers to the match.
