The Ski Jumping World Cup starts in Willingen on Friday. Unfortunately, the first day of the competition was slightly torpedoed by the weather conditions. The men’s qualifying was canceled and rescheduled for Saturday (14:45). In addition, a one-series mixed team competition was held. And in it he made a crazy leap.

With the arrival of Saturday, better conditions for jumping also arrived, although they were still a bit of a lottery. First, the women’s individual competition was played, in which Katharina Althaus turned out to be the best. Later, at 14:45 sharp, the qualifications for the competition started at 16:10. Their winner was Markus Eisenbichler, who jumped 141.5 meters. Second place went to Karl Geiger and third to Daniel Andre Tande. The best of the Poles – Dawid Kubacki – after a jump of 131 meters took the fourth place. The author of the longest attempt was 23-year-old Justin Lisso, who jumped as much as 144.5 meters and was ninth.

Five Polish representatives will present themselves in the main competition. Paweł Wąsek jumped 135.5 meters and was 21st. Kamil Stoch (126 meters) took 24th place, and Piotr Żyła was 25th, who jumped 121 meters. Aleksander Zniszczol also advanced, taking the 28th position after the attempt on 136 meters. Jakub Wolny (52nd place) jumped 116 meters and missed the promotion by two points.

Qualification started from the 13th starting bar, and the last jumpers pushed off from the 8th platform. During the series, the conditions were changeable – some jumpers had points deducted for headwind, and some points were added for headwind. One of the worst conditions was Manuel Fettner, Timi Zajc or Dawid Kubacki.
