Benfica extended the advantage in the 43rd minute, again with João Mário. Full-back Grimaldo received it wide on the left and crossed low. The ball crossed the area without touching any player, until João Mário appeared at the second post to send the back of the net.

With the two goals scored against Casa Pia, João Mário reached his third straight game scoring for Benfica. In the last rounds, the midfielder scored two goals against Arouca and one against Paços Ferreira, both away from home. The player has already scored ten goals in this Portuguese Championship and provided three assists.
At the head of the scoreboard, the team led by Roger Schmidt controlled the match and did not give Casa Pia many chances. In the 26th minute of the second stage, right-back Bah shot and took a risk from outside the area. The result takes the Encarnados to 53 points after 20 games and opens an 11-point lead. the rival Porto is in second place with 42 points, having played two games less. Casa Pia occupies the fifth position in the Portuguese Championship, with 30 points added.
