Bayer Leverkusen lost this Friday to Aubsburg by 1-0, in the game that opened the 19th round of the German Championship, and interrupted its recovery campaign with a second consecutive defeat, after a series of positive results.
The only goal of the match was scored by Mergim Berisha at the beginning of the second half, in the 10th minute.
In the leaderboard, Bayer Leverkusen is in ninth place, without being able to approach the qualifying zone for next season’s European competitions.
After the break for the World Cup, coach Xabi Alonso’s team had achieved a sequence of two victories in the first two Bundesliga games, but lost the next two, at home to Borussia Dortmund (2-0) and now for Augsburg, who move away from the relegation zone.
Leaders Bayern Munich, who come from three straight 1-1 draws, will try to regain victory in the German Championship on Sunday by visiting Wolfsburg, in seventh place.
The Bavarian team has a point advantage over Union Berlin, vice-leader, who receives Mainz this Saturday, the same day that RB Leipzig visits Cologne.
