It’s fair to say that Arsenal are experiencing a revival this season. The club tops the Premier League table and is on course to win its first Premier League title since 2004. Good results at the new stadium translate into a high value of the club, which according to Transfermarkt.de currently amounts to EUR 803 million. This makes the team an interesting investment.
The American actress would like to invest in Arsenal. “This is our favorite team”
Among the club’s potential investors was Reese Witherspoon. The American actress is a big fan of the Londoners and during the BBC’s “The One Show” she stated that she would love to become a shareholder of the team. “If there is a place for investors at Arsenal, me and my sons would be happy. They are our favorite team. We watched a few games, it was amazing. This is our team,” she said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
The actress, known among others from the series “Legally Blonde”, was in England in January and watched several Arsenal matches. Witherspoon was delighted with the atmosphere in the stands and the attitude of the team. If such an option actually appeared, this investment would not be a problem for her. The 2006 Oscar winner was named the richest actress in the world by Forbes in 2021. She still remains in the lead – currently her net worth is estimated at 420 million dollars.

Witherspoon wouldn’t be the first movie star to invest in an English club. Actor Ryan Reynolds is a shareholder of Welsh club Wrexham, which competes in the 5th tier. Ashton Kutcher, who also took part in the BBC programme, said that he recently came close to buying the famous club from England. However, he did not say which team he was interested in.
Arsenal lead the Premier League table with 50 points after 19 rounds. Second place is held by Manchester City (45 points), and Newcastle (39 points) complete the podium. Fourth-placed Manchester United also have the same number of points.
