Ten Hag hopes crowd reception will send Sancho back to form

After making his first start for Manchester United since October, Jadon Sancho has been supported by Erik Ten Hag. The coach expects the attacker to return to his best form and is betting on the warm reception of the fans for that to happen.

The 22-year-old striker entered the field in the match against Nottingham Forest, for the FA Cup. United won 2-0 and qualified to face Newcastle, from Brazilian Joelinton, in the final. The match was played at Old Trafford, home of the Red Devils, and the crowd applauded the young English promise, who came on in the second half.

Sancho was not in the right physical condition after doing individual training in Holland. He did not stay with the main team, which he trained in Spain.

“The most important thing is that the players feel happy playing football, which gives them energy and motivation to perform. I think the reception from the fans was important, it will give him an extra motivation to continue acting the way he is acting”, he said. Ten Hag over Sancho.

Sancho arrived at United in 2021, coming from Borussia Dortmund, for 85 million euros (R$ 464.95 million at the current quotation). For the Red Devils, there were 53 appearances, eight goals scored and four assists.
