The Legia football player set up a fundraiser for the operation. The fans are outraged. “Shame”

The Legia Ladies team is currently in the first group of the 3rd league and is in third place with a loss of one point to the league leader, Królewskie Płock. One of the players of the team is Julia Grządkowska. And it was her story that moved the fans in the last hours.

Legia Warsaw in the heat of criticism. They don’t help an injured player

A young sportswoman published a disturbing entry on one of the Facebook groups. In it, he asks Internet users for help. “I have been playing football for ten years, and I have been a player of the Legia Ladies senior team for two years. Unfortunately, I suffered an injury during training in December, namely I tore the anterior cruciate ligament in my right knee. Surgery and rehabilitation are necessary so that I can return to the field. General the cost is about PLN 25,000, which is why I am asking you for financial support and sharing this fundraiser. I will be grateful for any possible help, “we read.

The competitor provided a link to a page where you can donate money for her treatment. The whole situation definitely does not please the fans. Not because the footballer asks for help, but because she is forced to do so, because – apparently – Legia Warszawa does nothing to help her.

“You pay old Jędrzejczyk sick amounts and you don’t want a penny to pay your player at least the costs of surgery and help during the rehabilitation period? It’s a shame,” wrote one of the users who is responsible for publicizing the action in social media. “Even though she’s on Facebook groups, she has to ask for money, pathology,” he added.

“It’s a shame that you have to ask for money yourself by playing in the ‘biggest’ club in Poland,” wrote one of the Internet users who supported the fundraiser. “Thank you, unfortunately this is women’s football” – Albin Grządkowski, the organizer of the collection, which was supported by, among others, Maciej Wandzel, former co-owner of Legia.

As we can read on the collection page, the Legia Ladies team is also responsible for its organization. This means that women cannot count on help from the Legion. It should be noted that they do not report directly to the club, but to Legia Soccer Schools, i.e. an entity dealing with training children and youth. Nevertheless, taking into account the financial capabilities of the 15-time Polish champions, this is a significant image failure. At least that’s what the fans thought.

Legia Warsaw responds. “It will largely cover the cost of treatment”

On Tuesday morning, we contacted Legia’s press office, which immediately informed us that it was aware of the case. A few hours later we got the following message from the club:

“Each player and competitor training at Legia Soccer Schools – over four thousand children throughout Poland – are covered by accident insurance up to a certain amount. much more. Legia Soccer Schools is in contact with the girl’s parents and will largely cover the medical costs. Further medical consultations and her rehabilitation after the necessary surgery will also be carried out by the Legia Soccer Schools Foundation. We wish Julka a speedy recovery and return to the field.”
