With the advent of the new season of League of Legends, the EMEA Championship presented LoL viewers with a number of changes. The most popular organization participating in the competition, G2 Esports, did the same, deciding to refresh the starting five. As it turns out, the new roster is dominating the LEC and came close to setting a record last weekend.
The record was close
The course of the meeting, as it should be assumed since it ended at 6:45 p.m. on the timer, was extremely one-sided. The dominance of G2 Esports over the rivals, where the current forester of the team, Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, de facto plays, was visible in almost every position. Yike contributed the most to the victory with a successful play on Bel’veth and the duo from the bot lane, which developed a huge advantage from the first minutes of the meeting.
Interestingly, G2 Esports would not break another team’s record, but its own. This was established in 2019 in the historically best composition of the formation with Wunder, Jankos, Caps, Perkz and Mikyx. It happened during the Summer Split playoffs against Origen.
G2 Esports has undergone massive changes
Changes – one word can sum up the last few months on the European League of Legends scene. These affected not only the format and schedule of the games, but also the starting fives of most teams. G2 Esports opted for most of the modification of the starting five, resigning from further cooperation with three players: Jankos, Flakked and Targamas.
Instead, the team of 2019 world runners-up decided to bring a talented duo to the bot lane, i.e. Hans Samy and Mikyx. Jankos was replaced by the star of the French regional league, Yike. This one in a direct clash, although one match is definitely too small a research sample, managed to prove its worth.
