The Golden Boot is an award given each year to the top scorer in a given season. The plebiscite is attended by footballers playing in leagues associated with UEFA. Players from the strongest leagues receive two points for each goal scored, those from leagues rated as “average” receive 1.5 points, and those from the weakest leagues receive one point each. In the current season, Erling Haaland is the clear leader of the classification, but the fight for the top positions is still going on behind his back.
Rivals try to chase Erling Haaland in the battle for the Golden Boot. One of them even scored four goals. Robert Lewandowski must return to the game
There were no English Premier League games this weekend, but the rivals in the fight for the Golden Boot did not scare Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has already scored 25 league goals, which gives him 50 points in the standings and a clear advantage. Second place Amahl Pellegrino of Bodo/Glimt also scored 25 goals, but due to a lower ratio he has 37.5 points to his name. It’s already finished the season. Third place goes to Harry Kane, who scored 16 goals this season, which gives him 32 points.
Enner Valencia sensationally jumped to fourth place. The Ecuadorian scored as many as four goals in Fenerbahce’s 5-1 win over Kasimpasa and has already scored 19 goals, which translates into 28.5 points. The top five is completed by Victor Osimhen, who scored his 14th goal in Napoli’s match against Roma on Sunday. The Nigerian has 28 points.
Sixth place is occupied by Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 13 goals so far, which translates into 26 points. In recent weeks, he had no chance to increase his score, as he was suspended by a red card in November’s match against Osasuna. Playing again can keep him in position as many opponents have the same points as him. Seventh, Bobur Abdikholikov from Energetik-BGU Minsk has 26 goals and the same number of points, but has already finished the league season. Werder Bremen’s Niclas Fullkrug, PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Brentford’s Ivan Toney also each have 13 goals for 26 points.

The competition for sixth place is fierce, and Haaland Lewandowski is already 12 goals short. The return to the game of the Pole will probably take place on February 1, when FC Barcelona will face Betis away.
