Italian Cup for Conegliano. Wołosz with the third trophy of the season

The Imoco Volley Conegliano volleyball players have been presenting themselves very well since the beginning of the season. In the sixteen league matches played, they have suffered only one defeat, and they already have two trophies to their name. In November they won the Italian Super Cup, beating Igor Gorgonzola Novara 3-1, and in December they were the best in the Club World Cup. In the final, Joanna Wołosz’s club defeated the Turkish champions, VakifBank Istanbul, 3:1. On Sunday, the Italian champions reached for another triumph.

The Wołosz club is not slowing down. Imoco Conegliano with the Coppa Italia

On January 29, the team from Conegliano faced Vero Volley Monza for the Coppa Italia. Thus, the teams of Wołosz and the attacking Polish national team, Magdalena Stysiak, faced each other. After an even start, the favorites took the lead at 9:6. With time, Imoco was leading by six points, which heralded a certain victory for the team. The rivals were no longer able to mobilize, which translated into the victory of the national champions to 17.

The second set was much more even. For a long time, both teams played for a draw, and each time the advantage of the Wołosz team was quickly eliminated. From 21:21 the favorites took control of the court, which won 25:23 and increased the lead in the match.

The leaders had a strong opening of the third set, quickly jumping back to 9:2. Already at that moment it became clear that this game would be the final touch of the match. The players from Monza were not able to make up for the result, and the favorites were getting closer and closer to the final triumph. In the end, Imoco won 25:19, triumphing 3:0 and winning the third trophy of the season. Wołosz was responsible for playing the club throughout the meeting. Stysiak, in turn, had only an episodic appearance in the first batch and managed to score one point.

For the Polish setter, this is the fourth Coppa Italia in her career. Previously, she triumphed with Imoco in these competitions in 2020, 2021 and 2022. So, the Wołosz club is on the right track to win the full pool this season. To be completely happy, the Italian champions lack a title defense and a victory in the Champions League.
