Saturday’s competition was not very successful for the Poles. Yesterday’s competition was a show of Halvor Egner Granerud. The Norwegian was less than 11 points ahead of the second Stefan Kraft and more than 15 points of the third Domen Prevc. The Norwegian took his sixth win of the season and also became the new World Cup leader. Dawid Kubacki lost the lead in the general classification after 84 days. His loss to Graneruda is 26 points.
Four Poles in the Kulm competition
Sunday started with qualifying. The competition started from the 19th starting bar, which is much, much higher than the one from which the competitors started on Saturday. The jury, however, successively lowered it and the last jumpers were already descending the 13th starting platform. In turn, the wind at first blew in the back, but later turned and blew under the skis.
Five Poles appeared at the start again. On Saturday, Jakub Wolny did not get to the competition and it was the same this time. A jump on 192.5 meters did not allow him to advance (44th place). The rest of the white-and-reds presented themselves better. Olek Zniszczoł flew as much as 221.5 meters and was finally 15th. Soon after, Kamil Stoch reached 219 meters and took 17th place.
The next Pole was Dawid Kubacki. Our best jumper this season flew to 224 meters from the 14th starting bar and was finally sixth. The best of the Poles turned out to be Piotr Żyła, who flew 225.5 meters from the 13th beam and took third place. Behind him was Halvor Egner Granerud (225 meters). The second place went to Ziga Jelar, who showed the longest jump in the qualification – 239.5 meters. Stefan Kraft won with a jump of 225.5 meters.
The competition starts at 14:15. Live coverage at Sport.pl and the Sport.pl LIVE mobile application.
