Kwiatkowska followed in her brother’s footsteps and won the European Cup competition

Olimpia Kwiatkowska competed on Sunday in the parallel giant slalom as part of the European Cup in Simonhohe, Austria. The Polish woman advanced to the 1/8 finals with the 10th qualifying time. In the following races, she did not give her rivals any chances and made it to the finals. There, her rival was the Ukrainian Annamaria Dañcza, who also had to recognize her superiority. The 22-year-old Kwiatkowska recorded her first victory in the European Cup, achieving the greatest success in her career so far.

Weronika Dawidek also advanced to the 1/8 finals. She was eliminated in the 1/8 finals and finished in 8th position. Maria Chyc (22nd place) and Karolina Pó³torak (37th place) did not make it through the qualifying rounds.

Also in the men’s competition we had two representatives in the 1/8 finals, but both ended the competition at this stage. Miko³aj Rutkowski finished 9th, and Andrzej Gąsienica-Daniel was 15th. The third Pole, Micha³ Wilk, finished the competition in 33rd place.

Kwiatkowska’s success is all the greater because on Saturday she did not even get through the qualifications, taking the 31st place. The best Polish woman on that day was Dawidek, who finished the competition in the quarterfinals and was classified in the 7th position. Chyc also advanced to the 1/8, finishing 16th.
