Bivol’s coach Gennady Mashyanov said he was not impressed by the fight between Beterbiev and Yard
The coach of the World Boxing Association (WBA) world champion Dmitry Bivol, Gennady Mashyanov, said that he was not impressed by the fight between Russian Artur Beterbiev and Briton Anthony Yarde. The words of the specialist are quoted by Metaratings.
Mashyanov noted that due to overweight, Yard began to slow down by the middle of the battle, however, Beterbiev did not have high speed either. “I can’t say that someone was clearly winning at the time of the stop, fifty-fifty. Artur got to meet, ”the coach added. He also said that he sees no point in rematching, and called the Briton a technically poor boxer.
Earlier on Sunday, January 29, Beterbiev defeated Yarde by technical knockout in the eighth round. He defended the World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) light heavyweight titles.
In total, Beterbiev won 19 victories in his career and did not suffer a single defeat. Yard now has 23 wins and three losses.
