The first stage was busy and Monza, even playing away from home against one of the most famous squads in the championship, managed to impose itself and keep the ball in the Juventus attack, even having a goal disallowed for offside, after VAR check.
The visiting team’s courage was rewarded and, 18 minutes into the first half, billionaire Silvio Berlusconi’s club opened the scoring with Patrick Ciurria, who received a deep ball and shot hard, with no chances for Szczęsny.
Juve was unable to impose itself during the first half, the Turin team had a bad start and could barely stop the opposing attacks. With that, at 39, Dany Mota received, cleared the goalkeeper Szczęsny and pushed for the empty net: 2 to 0 Monza and end of the first half.
