Manchester United vs Reading: Find out about the FA Cup match

THE Manchester United Back on the field this Saturday. You Red Devils face Reading, from the English second division, at 17:00 (Brasília time), for the fourth phase of the FA Cup, at Old Trafford, in Manchester (ING).

The team coached by Erik ten Hag is going through a great phase and comes from a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the English League Cup. In addition, he won ten of the last twelve official games he played – he drew one and lost another. In fact, at home, there were ten triumphs in the last matches, with 26 goals scored and only four conceded.

In the previous stage of the FA Cup, Manchester United beat Everton 3-1, also at Old Trafford. Antony, Conor Coady (against) and Marcus Rashford scored for the hosts.

United and Reading at different times

On the other hand, Reading is not going through a positive moment. The team has not won for four games in the Championship, England’s second division, and is in the middle of the leaderboard, in 14th place, with 37 points gained – five behind the playoff zone for access to the English Championship.

The team’s only victory in the last five matches was precisely in the FA Cup, in the third phase. Reading received Watford, also from the second division, and won 2-0. The goals were scored by Abrefa and Long. Now, the club is trying to overcome the fourth round, which has not happened since 2017.

Finally, Manchester United, the second biggest champion of the oldest football tournament in the world, goes in search of the 13th title in its history. The last of them was conquered seven years ago, in 2016. In turn, Reading tries to win the competition for the first time.
