“Match TV”: the general condition of the lungs of the hospitalized figure skater Kostomarov has improved
The condition of the hospitalized Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov continues to improve. New details of the athlete’s treatment are reported by Match TV, citing a source familiar with the situation.
“The support of the ventilator remained, the general condition of the lungs improved,” he said. Another source confirmed in a conversation with RBC the positive dynamics of the athlete’s condition and added that the recovery process would not be quick.
On January 25, information appeared that Kostomarov had been diagnosed with a cardiac disorder. Cardiologists were deciding whether he could be cured with medication or whether surgery would be required.
A day earlier, it was reported that Kostomarov regained consciousness and began to talk. It was noted that doctors continue treatment and administer sleeping pills to the athlete to fully restore the body.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B.
