Once upon a time there was a red carpet, which was followed by a grand award ceremony. This is what will happen on countless occasions in the coming weeks, not only in Spain but in the rest of the world, now framed in the cultural awards season. In view of the celebration of the Goya Awards, the most important in Spanish cinema, many others are being held, including the Fierce Awards, which this year will move to Zaragoza again. This Saturday the awards ceremony takes place at the Auditorium in the Aragonese capital: the best films and series on the Spanish scene will come from here, as well as the actors and actresses who appear in them and the rest of the artists involved in their production.

While in TV categories ‘La Ruta’, by ATRESplayer Premium, leads the list, with six nominations, in cinema the favorite is ‘As bestas’, by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, which takes the cake, with a total of 10 nominations. She is closely followed by ‘Cinco lobitos’, by Alauda Ruiz de Arzúa, with seven. ‘As bestas’ is a fiction based on a true story that took place in 1997 in a village in Ourense, known as the crime of Santoalla.
