Sky is the limit” – wrote the leader of the WTA ranking on Twitter. Thus, Linette joined Iga Świątek and Agnieszka Radwańska, who were the only tennis players from our country to achieve such a result during the Australian Open. Świątek did it in 2022, and the older of the Radwański sisters – in 2014 and 2016.
In addition, the semi-final performed by Magda Linette meant that the tennis player from Poznań will note a significant advancement in the WTA ranking and will have the highest position in her career. Linette moves up from 45th to 22nd place with 1770 points.
