Cristian Tello is a FC Barcelona alumnus who was predicted a great career. His beginnings at the Catalan club were very promising. Ultimately, however, the career did not go as expected. Tello played over 80 games for FC Barcelona and won the Spanish league, the Copa del Rey and the domestic Super Cup. Tello was on loan at FC Porto and Fiorentina before leaving for Real Betis in the summer of 2017 for €4m. Now he will play in the same league as Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristian Tello has decided to join Al-Fateh, the eighth team of the ongoing season in Saudi Arabia. The Spanish winger has signed a contract valid until the end of June 2024. “A new stage begins, let’s go,” Tello wrote on social media, greeting fans of the new club. The Spaniard previously played for Los Angeles FC, the winners of last year’s playoffs. Both sides had the opportunity to extend the cooperation for an additional season, but did not take advantage of it.
Al-Fateh played in the lower Arab leagues for most seasons. Their only championship took place in the 2012/2013 season, when they scored 64 points in 26 matches and overtook, among others, Al-Hilal or Al-Shabab. Now Tello will instantly become the star of Al-Fateh. One of his club colleagues will be the Spaniard Fran Velez, who played for Wisła Kraków in the 2017/2018 season. There, the defender played seventeen matches and scored one goal.
Al-Fateh is eighth in the Saudi Professional League with 18 points after 13 games. Their loss to the leader Al-Nassr is as much as 20 points.
