Valery Karpin explained criticism of Estonian football players and coaches for a photo with him by politics
The head coach of Rostov and the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, explained why several Estonian players and coaches were criticized for sharing a photo with him. It is reported by “Match TV”.
“I can probably reassure someone: being in Estonia for a month, I’m ready to say with confidence that this is a purely political topic,” said Karpin. He added that Russians feel comfortable in the Baltic country.
On January 3, the MTU Jalgpallihaigla fan association criticized the captain of the Estonian national team Konstantin Vasiliev, midfielder Sergei Zenev, ex-player Andrey Stepanov, assistant coach Andres Opera and other Estonian football players and coaches for sharing a photo with Valery Karpin. After that, the Estonians present in the picture apologized.
Karpin is a native of the Estonian city of Narva. The specialist has an Estonian citizen’s passport.
