Harry Kane is open to renewing with Tottenham; player has forced out in the past

A year and a half after trying to force his departure from Tottenham, center forward Harry Kane is willing to open talks to renew his bond with the London team. The information was provided by journalist David Ornstein, from the British vehicle The Athletic.

The 29-year-old, who has a contract until 2024, would be open to negotiating an extension after the end of the transfer window. The last time club and player talked about it was in July 2021, when Kane expressed a desire to leave the team.

At the time, Manchester City were very interested in the English striker and were willing to negotiate with Tottenham for the transfer. However, Kane was considered untouchable by the London club’s board, which did not accept City’s proposal. The refusal left the athlete dissatisfied, who even missed training as a form of protest.

Since then, Kane has settled with the managers and continued to play for Tottenham. With 17 goals and three assists this season, the center forward now wants to renew his contract to succeed with the team.

Fifth in the Premier League, Tottenham are looking for a good place in the leaderboard to guarantee a place in the next edition of the European Champions League. This Monday, Antonio Conte’s charges will take on Fulham.
