Karpin plans to call on the next matches of players who will help the team in the future
The head coach of the Russian national football team Valery Karpin spoke about the composition of the team for the upcoming matches. His words are quoted by Match TV.
The specialist suggested that at least until March, the suspension of Russian players will not end, so he plans to bet on players who can help the team in the near future. “Let’s say at that time Fedor Smolov will be our best striker. Why should I call him? Meet?” Karpin added.
On January 14, TASS reported that in 2023 the national team expects to play five friendly matches. Information about the alleged rivals of the team is not disclosed.
On February 28, 2022, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. The teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team has lost the opportunity to compete for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
