Two children died in a fire in the village of Pavlovka in the Belogorsk District of the Amur Region, while adults managed to escape, the press service of the district prosecutor’s office reports.
According to the department, a private house caught fire on Saturday night. Two minors born in 2008 and 2009 died in the fire. At the same time, the adults who were in the house managed to escape. According to preliminary data, the children were under guardianship, the department notes.
In turn, the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Amur Region clarifies that the grandparents were the guardians of the children, since their parents were limited in parental rights. During the fire, an elderly woman was also injured and was hospitalized with burns of 2-3 degrees. The man was not seriously injured, as he was in another building.
Investigators opened a criminal case on causing death by negligence to two persons, the causes of the fire are being established.
The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations clarifies that late detection and a large fire load contributed to the rapid spread of fire. At the time of the arrival of fire brigades, the house was burning from the inside over the entire area with an open flame. 13 personnel and four pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
