Tyson Fury challenges former UFC champion Francis Ngannou to boxing match

British boxer Tyson Fury called out the former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Francis Ngannou, who recently left the promotion, to fight. The athlete’s words are quoted by Seconds Out.

“Let’s have a juicy duel in a cage with four ounce gloves. Let us have a cool referee. For example, Iron Mike Tyson,” Fury said.

On January 15, it became known about Ngannou’s decision to leave the UFC. The athlete refused to renew the agreement, which was designed for two years and would make him the highest paid heavyweight in the history of the organization. He had previously complained about financial conditions at the promotion.

The heavyweight won the championship belt in a duel with American Stipe Miocic in March 2021. In January 2022, he defended his title for the first time, defeating the Frenchman Cyril Gan, after which he did not enter the octagon due to knee surgery.

Ngannou has been with the UFC since 2015. In total, during his career he won 17 victories and suffered three defeats. Fury has 33 wins and one draw, as well as the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship belt.
