Cristiano Ronaldo was officially announced by the club on December 30 last year and, four days later, presented in front of around 30,000 fans at the team’s stadium. Since then, the Portuguese star has participated in activities with his new teammates, among them the Brazilians Luiz Gustavo and Anderson Talisca.
However, two factors prevented the striker from making his first appearance. By hiring the player, Al-Nassr exceeded the limit of foreigners in its squad, a problem that was solved with the departure of Cameroonian Vincent Aboubakar to Besiktas, from Turkey.
Another factor was a two-match suspension from England. The punishment refers to April 2022, when he purposely knocked over the cell phone of an Everton fan, when he was still defending the colors of Manchester United.
The confrontation will be the second for Cristiano Ronaldo since he moved to Saudi football, but the first official match with the shirt of Al-Nassr. Last Thursday, he played in a friendly between Riyadh All-Star XI (combined players from Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal) and Paris Saint-Germain. The game ended 5-4 for PSG, but CR7 scored two goals in the match.
