This Saturday, the Porto visited Vitória de Guimarães for the 17th round of the Portuguese Championshipat Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques, in Guimarães (POR), and won by 1 to 0. Midfielder João Mário scored the only goal of the game.
Thus, the Dragons reach their seventh undefeated match and reach 39 points in the competition, but remain in third place – one point behind vice-leader Braga and five behind leader Benfica, who also won in the round.
On the other hand, the hosts are bitter for the fourth consecutive game without a victory and, in this way, waste the chance to enter the classification zone for the European leagues. At the moment, they are in seventh place, with 24 points – three behind fifth place Casa Pia.
For the next round, therefore, Porto will visit second place Marítimo, at 4 pm (Brasília time) on Wednesday (01), at Estádio dos Barreiros, in Funchal (POR). In turn, Vitória de Guimarães will receive Chaves, on Monday (30), from 18:15, again at Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques.
Before that, however, the Dragons turn their attention to the Portuguese Cup. For the semifinal, the blue club will face Académico de Viseu, from the Portuguese second division, at 4:45 pm next Wednesday, at Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, in Leiria (POR).

Porto’s goal against Vitória de Guimarães
The only goal of this afternoon’s clash came in the first half stoppage time. In the 47th minute, after a cross that was barely cleared by the defense, the Portuguese-Brazilian Otávio passed with a header to João Mário, who took it off the scoreboard with a light touch over the top and kicked it crosswise, opening the scoring in Guimarães.
When the clock reached 49 minutes of the second half, the referee was called by VAR to check a possible penalty for Porto, for a possible foul touch inside the area. After the analysis on the monitor, however, he maintained the field decision and did not score the penalty.
