O Borussia Dortmund returns to the dispute German Championship this Sunday and may have the premiere of Sébastien Haller. The striker arrived at the club in the middle of last year, but was diagnosed with testicular cancer and returned to the pitch about a month ago.
The team will face Augsburg, at 11:30 am (Brasília time), at Signal Iduna Park, and has Sébastien Haller among those listed. On his social networks, the striker made a publication in which he shows the boots he will use in the confrontation that marks his victory in the battle against cancer. The shoe will have the message “f…o cancer” written on its side.
“The best comeback of the year”, wrote Puma, his sponsor of sporting goods, in the publication made with the player.
Remember the case of Sébastien Haller
Haller, 28 years old, was formed in the youth categories of Auxerre, in France, the club for which he made his professional debut. After going through West Hamfrom England, and Frankfurt, from Germany, the striker reached the Ajax. In the Dutch team, he scored 47 goals in 66 games and was signed by Borussia Dortmund in July 2022.
Days after being announced by the German club, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. After having two surgeries and being sidelined for about six months, the striker returned to training earlier this year. Two weeks ago, he was on the field in Borussia Dortmund’s friendly against Dusseldorf. In the next training game, against Basel, from Switzerland, the player scored three times in just eight minutes.
