After the crime of a university student on Friday night in Milagro, several higher education study centers have spoken out about what happened.
María Gema Moreira was assassinated inside the Milagro State University (Unemi) after 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
The victim’s body was left lying on a sidewalk near a parking area of that public university. Next to her, there was a pool of blood and a purple backpack.
The State University of Guayaquil expressed its solidarity with the University of Milagro for the act of violence. He also expressed his solidarity with the murder of Segundo Castillo Cabeza, dean of the Luis Vargas Torres de Esmeraldas University.

In a statement, the University of Guayaquil requested the Government to provide greater protection and security control for the institutions.
The Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (Espol) also issued a statement on what happened at the universities of Esmeraldas and Milagro.
“We reject the violence of these acts that threaten the peace, integrity, and life of people,” he said.
Espol also called on the authorities to work together so that urgent actions are taken on issues of security and protection of those who make up the educational institutions.
“Only in safe environments can we continue to contribute with education, knowledge and development of our future generations,” he said.
