Junior Davis Cup and BJKC 2023 program started | Other Sports | Sports

With the presence of 53 junior tennis players, the Junior Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Program Camp began today, which will last three days, and is promoted by the Ecuadorian Tennis Federation with the support of Betcris.

The president of the Ecuadorian Tennis Federation, economist Danilo Carrera, and the commercial manager of BETCRIS, José Lynch, made the official presentation of the first stage of 2023, where the athletes will be evaluated in the technical, physical and medical aspects, which They will serve to select the players who will receive financial support to guarantee them a minimum number of international competition.

Since January 2022, the program started, which is sponsored by BETCRIS. Every year 2 3-day camps are held, in January and August. At the end of the camp, 8 players from Group 1 and 12 tennis players from Group 2 (men and women) are chosen, a total of 20 players, who will receive support for their travel to participate in South American and European tours in search of raising their level. In each Group the level of support is different.

The best tennis players in each category, national teams and the tennis players with the best COSAT ranking are summoned for the program, and the 20 selected participate in the South American Circuit for 14 and 16 year-olds and in the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors tournaments.

The group is directed by the Ecuadorians Raúl Viver, Dr. Tyrone Flores, Jorge Sanmartín and the Argentine Alejandro Corizzo.

The program has benefited a hundred tennis players in their sporting development, and in some cases they are already seeing good results. Thus we have Tania Andrade, who was selected by the ITF team to participate in the Australia Open Junior 2023, and Emilio Camacho, 14, who due to his ranking was invited to participate in the prestigious international tournament “Les Petits As”, considered the world youth tennis
