The football community has decided! We know the FIFA 23 eleven of the year

Every year, EA Sports encourages all football fans to vote for the best players in the previous calendar year. In this way, we get to know a real dream team – a dream team composed of outstanding players. This year was especially exciting because the World Championships are behind us. We had many surprises on the biggest football stage and new stars of world football were born.

“Our voting for the EA SPORTS FIFA Team of the Year has grown in popularity year after year and has become a highly regarded poll for selecting the best of the best in world football,” said David Jackson, EA SPORTS FC Vice President of Brand. “Team of the Year gives millions of football fans the opportunity to choose the best players in the world, and we are honored to bring them to FIFA 23.

Eleven Dreams

Among strikers, Kylian Mbappe won the most votes (23%), the best midfielder was Kevin De Bruyne (21%), and among defenders Achraf Hakimi (15%). The undisputed leader among goalkeepers was Thibaut Courtois (56%).

The fans of the Polish national team, who watched Wojtek Szczęsny’s exploits during the World Cup, certainly kept their fingers crossed for the success of our goalkeeper, but Thibaut Courtois won by unanimous majority. The goalkeeper of Real Madrid last year, with his brilliant saves, significantly contributed to winning the Champions League by Real Madrid and has long been considered by many as the best goalkeeper in the world. This has now been confirmed in the results of the TOTY vote.

PSG’s Achraf Hakimi is one of those figures who stood out during the World Cup, where he and the Moroccan national team caused a huge surprise by reaching the semi-finals. Next to him in the defensive formation were also: Eder Militao (Real Madrid), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) and Theo Hernandez (AC Milan). Some of these choices may come as a surprise to football fans around the world, but there is no doubt that they are some of the best players in their field.

The midfield consists of three players. Kevin De Bruyne has been presenting excellent class for several years and pleases the eyes of Premier League fans. Next to him was an outstanding Croatian player – Luka Modriæ, who last season did not show that he was closer to retirement than the beginning of his career, contributing to the second consecutive World Cup medal for Croatia. Modriæ is distinguished by his excellent field vision and his ability to come out of the pressing. He still plays at high intensity and charms fans at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Their partner in the midfield is the future, and maybe even the current, world football star – Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. Soon the biggest clubs in the world will fight a transfer duel for a super talent from Great Britain.

There was no room for Lewandowski in front, but it’s hard to be surprised. Here we have Karim Benzema, the leader of Real Madrid, which is dominant in Europe, and the winner of the Golden Ball, Kylian Mbappe, who is in great shape, as the fans of the Polish national team found out. Mbappe made history by scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup final in Qatar and becoming top scorer. The trio will be complemented by the living legend of world football, Leo Messi, who led his country’s national team to the coveted world championship.

However, there were many outstanding players on the list of 100 nominees, which is why, as in the previous year, a twelfth player was also selected in each of the formations. The reserve defender is Joao Cancelo, midfielder Fede Valverde, and in the attack we will find Erling Haaland. They all promise to be world football stars for many years to come.

The top 11 players will receive special cards in Ultimate Team mode with new stats that reward their amazing performances on the pitch. These cards immediately become a rarity for all fans of virtual football. TOTY XI will hit the game on January 26.
