With Lacazette hat-trick, Lyon beats Chambery and goes to the last 16 of the Coupe de France

In a match valid for the round of 32 of the French Cup, Lyon defeated Chambery 3-0 away from home, at the Jacques Level Stadium. The highlight of the match was striker Lacazette, who scored three goals in the match. The Brazilian Tetê also shone and gave two assists to the number 10.

Lyon now awaits the draw to find out who will be their opponent in the round of 16. The team’s next game will be next Sunday (29) for the French Championship, against Ajaccio away from home.

The game

Even playing away from the Groupama Stadium, Lyon went up and prevailed against the modest Chambery, from the French third division. In the 11th minute, Lacazette received a pass from Tetê on the right and only needed to push the ball to open the scoring.

After 33 minutes, the same move was repeated. Tetê received the ball on the right and touched it in the small area to Lacazette, who increased Lyon’s lead to 2-0.

With the adverse result, Chambery tried to run from the loss. In the 35th minute, Scarantino shot well from outside the area but Anthony Lopes managed to save it.

In the second half, the visitors continued to try to extend the advantage. With 67 minutes, Barcola messed up the opposing defense and passed to Lacazette to score the hat-trick.

With the vacancy virtually guaranteed, coach Laurent Blanc began to change the Lyon team. Dembélé came on for Lacazette and almost scored the fourth goal, but stopped by goalkeeper Blachon.
