Bryan Coquard (Cofidis) won the fourth stage of the Tour Down Under which was held on January 21 between Port Willunga and Willunga Township (133.2 km) and Jay Vine (UAE) continues to lead the general classification.
The windy fourth stage was decided by sprinting and in the final meters Coquard was the best. The French surpassed Alberto Bettiol (EF Education-EasyPost) and Hugo Page (Intermarché-Cyrcus-Wanty), second and third respectively.
Pello Bilbao (Bahrain-Victorious), winner of the third stage, is now third in the general classification after losing a job. Simon Yates (Jayco AlUla) grabbed a bonus second, equaled the cyclist from Gernika-Lumo (Bizkaia) in time and has in his favor a few hundredths of the time trial. In the absence of a day for the conclusion of the Tour Down Under, Smon Yates and Pello Bilbao are 15 seconds behind the leader Jay Vine.
