UFC chief Dana White refuses to consider slap tournament inhumane
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White responded to criticism of his Power Slap tournament. His words are quoted by BJ Penn.
White refused to consider the competition inhumane and traumatic. He emphasized that he only works with athletes whose condition is checked. In addition, during and after the competition, the organizers are ready to provide medical assistance. “If you don’t fucking like it, don’t watch it,” said the head of the UFC.
On January 12, White spoke about a possible exit from the UFC after a fight with his wife in the VIP area of a nightclub in Mexico. He felt that his resignation would harm the promotion.
The debut Power Slap tournament was supposed to take place on January 11, but due to the scandal surrounding White, it was removed from the TBS broadcast network. The event should take place on the night of January 19th.
