Ex-figure skater Gerboldt said that Kostornaya needs to work for success in pair skating
Prize-winner of the Russian Championship Katarina Gerboldt called the condition for a successful career of the Russian figure skater Alena Kostornaya in pair skating. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“I myself switched to couples at the age of 21, and it seemed crazy. If Alena has a goal to prove something and work harder than ever in her life, then everything will work out, ”said the ex-figure skater. She called Kostornaya a talented athlete who is able to achieve success in a new form for herself.
On January 16, coach Elena Buyanova announced that she had stopped working with Kostorna because of the athlete’s desire to switch to pair skating. She noted that the figure skater, who during her performance on the show tried to do paired elements with Kunitsa, is now training with Sergei Roslyakov.
In July 2020, Kostornaya left the Eteri Tutberidze group and began training under the guidance of Evgeni Plushenko. In March 2021, the athlete returned to Sambo-70, and a year later she moved to CSKA to Buyanova. On account of Kostornaya, the gold of the European Championship 2020 and the Grand Prix final.
