Dream of São Paulo, Lucas is offered to Everton

After being speculated in Sao Paulostriker Lucas Moura was offered to Everton, according to the Daily Mail. The Brazilian will not renew his contract with Tottenham and, in order not to lose the athlete for free at the end of the season, the London team is trying to close a deal with a European team.

Lucas arrived at Tottenham in 2018, coming from Paris Saint-Germain, and was important for the team in the title dispute Premier League and the Champions League, including scoring a historic hat-trick in the 2019 semis against Ajax. In all, there were 213 games, with 38 goals scored.

However, the 30-year-old lost ground to coach Antonio Conte after suffering an injury in August. Tottenham have already warned Lucas that they will not renew his contract and this has aroused the interest of some clubs, such as São Paulo, where the Brazilian was revealed and is considered an idol.

For coach Rogério Ceni, having Lucas at São Paulo right now is, however, an impossible dream. He believes in the striker’s permanence in Europe, taking advantage of the fact that he is a player with a “Premier League image”. In addition, the salary issue would be a problem for Tricolor in the negotiation.

Everton appears as a possible destination for the Brazilian, but the Liverpool team also monitors Dutchman Arnaut Danjuma, from Villareal, who seems to be a more interesting option, as he is five years younger than Lucas and had a good Champions League in the last season. The 25-year-old striker has been sought by Premier League clubs and is expected to make a decision in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Lucas Moura continues to look for his destiny in the Old Continent and a return to Tricolor Paulista seems less and less likely.
