RB Sport: Israeli club Maccabi offered Leonid Slutsky the post of head coach
Russian coach Leonid Slutsky could lead the Israeli club Maccabi. RB Sport became aware of the offer he received from a foreign team.
It is noted that Slutsky was ready to come to Tel Aviv, but the negotiations did not continue. As a result, the post of head coach of the Middle East club was taken by the Spaniard Aitor Karanka.
On November 15, Slutsky left the post of head coach of the Kazan club Rubin. It was clarified that he left the team of his own free will. The reasons why the specialist made such a decision were not reported. He has been working in the Kazan team since 2019.
In 2015-2016, Slutsky led the Russian national team. He helped the team qualify for Euro 2016, but in the end, the team finished last in Group B and did not reach the playoffs.
