The game – In a balanced first half, the score did not go from 0-0 and each team had only one promising creation.
On minute 13, Amine Gouiri missed a great opportunity by sending the ball over the crossbar after finding free space to finish. Four minutes later Montpellier responded. Stephy Mavididi fired a shot from the edge of the area that skimmed the left post.
In the second stage, at 37, Florent Mollet arrived inside the area with a spectacular move and placed the ball in the back of the net to decree the victory of Montpellier.
