Barcelona vice-president says he condemns ex-club representatives who insulted Messi
The management of the football club “Barcelona” issued a statement about the correspondence with insults against the Argentine striker PSG Lionel Messi. Marca reports.
Catalan vice-president Rafa Yuste made it clear that he condemns such statements, and stressed that they were said by ex-representatives of the club. “These words showed a huge disrespect for people like Messi, who gave so much to the club,” he said.
On January 12, elPeriódico published screenshots of correspondence in which Barcelona leaders insulted Messi. Representatives of the team called the player a rat from a cesspool.
Messi left Barcelona for PSG in August 2021. Prior to that, he spent his entire career playing for the Catalans, as part of which he won the Spanish championship ten times and won the Champions League four times.
